Joao's an avid soccer fan, so this was an especially meaningful project for him.

"What can I say… I had to pinch myself that I flew all the way to Manchester to shoot the king of fútbol," he says. "My team and I had to fire on all cylinders—it was almost like a rocket launch, planning all the shots beforehand so that Cristiano could just quickly cycle through all the scenarios, which would later be put together in post into one seamless whole."

"It was an incredible experience to shoot a man with such grace and talent," Joao continues. "I was in awe at how he could follow specific direction with such precision and finesse, manipulating the ball just so and having such incredible control of his body."
